1 What is an Active LED Display?
LED display units use light-emitting diodes to create pixels, which are mounted on to modules. These modules placed together make up an entire LED Screen. These screens can be customised in size and shape as per the requiremnt of the end client .
2 How are LED Display Panels Different from Active LED Displays?
Active LED displays are superior to LED display panels in terms of their output quality and longevity. Active LED displays deliver Higher brightness, better colour reproduction, and bezel-free seamless image. Moreover, it is possible to conduct chip-level repairs with active LED displays.
3 What is Pixel Pitch and How is It Useful?
Pixel pitch is the distance between centre of two pixels in a LED screen. The lesser the distance between two pixels, more pixels can be fit in a square ft/ meter and hence lead to better screen resolution and a richer viewing experience.
Viewing distance and pixel pitch go hand in hand. The lesser the viewing distance in metres, the lesser the pixel pitch in millimetres to get the best visual experience of your screen.
4How Do You Calculate LED Display Resolution?
Resolution is the common term used to denote the clarity of the images and text is displayed on the screen. We can calculate resolution using this formula:
Resolution = Screen Size / Pixel Pitch
5What Certifications Should I Check Before Buying an LED Display Unit?
Certifications can stand as the proxy for quality, long usable life, and authentic components. We strongly recommend checking for CE, FCC, BIS, and UL certifications for the entire screen and not individual modules or cabinets.
6Why is Refresh Rate Important?
The refresh rate is directly proportional to the viewing experience quality of your screen. Take this for an example - have you ever tried recording your screen with a camera? The lower the refresh rate of your screen, the more disturbance you will witness in the recorded video for the screen. On the other side, the better the refresh rate for your screen, the more minor disturbance you will observe on the screen. In our recommendation, you should proceed with the screens which offer reasonably high refresh rates, especially if the end application is for studios and broadcasting centres .
7What is IP Rating?
IP rating stands for Ingress Protection Rating and is denoted with two numbers. The first and the second number represent the protection against solid and liquid objects, respectively. For instance, an IP rating of 65 would have the '6' denoting the protection against solids and the '5' denoting the protection against liquids.
8What is the Xtreme Protect Smart Power Distribution Unit?
The Xtreme Protect PDU is a comprehensive solution to intelligently manage your screens' power supply and health. The PDU works as a layer of additional safety, safeguarding your screen against voltage surges, power surges, and short circuits. Our aim behind designing the Protect PDU was to deliver absolute screen control and visibility into your hands. And that is why you can remotely turn the screen on or off or conduct root-cause analysis for display issues in your LEDs.
9What is After-Sales Service and Warranty So Important for Active LED Displays?
Like all premium products, Active LED Video Walls demand expert-led after-sales services. Such services ensure that your screen keeps delivering the promised viewing experience throughout its useful life. In short, the right after-sales service ensures that you get the maximum returns on your investment in LED screens.
Some sellers might just provide spare parts for replacements on the other end. We strongly recommend against such practices. A trained technician who understands the screen configuration beyond its blueprint can ensure day-one-like picture quality for the entire usable life of the screen - from installation to the day you choose to upgrade or replace the Active LED display screen.
Theoretically, an engineer should open the screen and fix the underlying issue. However, without the necessary training on how to navigate the hundreds of components like small integrated circuits and lamps, the engineer would be left to hits & trials. While there is nothing inherently wrong with the approach, a wrong move can render the screen virtually useless and defeat the purpose of not getting it serviced by a technician. Hence, we highly recommend using the assistance of our trained technicians and authentic spare parts to get the highest quality viewing experience of the longest possible time on your Active LED screens.
